Teacher's Pet
On a special Teachers Day, a kindergarten teacher was receiving gifts from her pupils. When the florist's son handed her a gift she shook it, held it over her head and said, "I bet I know what it is - it's a flower." "That's right," the boy said, "but how did you know?" "Oh, just a wild guess," she said.
The next pupil was the candy store owners daughter. The teacher held her gift over her head, shook it, and said, "I bet I can guess what it is - it's a box of candy." "That's right, but how did you know?" asked the girl. "Oh, just a wild guess," she said.
The next gift was from the son of the liquor store owner. The teacher held it over her head, but it was leaking. She touched a drop of the liquid with her finger, and touched it to her tongue. "I bet I can guess what this is - it's wine." she said.
"No," the boy replied.
The teacher repeated the process, touching another drop of the liquid to her tongue. "Is it champagne?" she asked. "No," said the boy again. Once again the teacher tasted the liquid and finally said, "I give up, what is it?" The boy grinned, and gleefully replied...
"It's a puppy!"
