Year 2000 Problem

Just to keep you all informed of the latest...

A high ranking official in the Clinton administration announced today that current estimates indicate that efforts to fix the Year 2000 computer problem will not be completed by January 1, 2000.

Therefore, pending approval by the World Chronological Society, the year 2000 will be delayed one year. Next year will be referred to as 1999A and the following year as 1999B.

Informed sources say that the Government may be running as much as 5 years behind schedule. Contingency plans are being made to extend this grace period to 1999C, D and E.
