Accountant and a Pope in Heaven

An accountant and a Pope die and come to the doors of Heaven. St. Peter receives them with a big smile and asks them to come with him to their new home in paradise. They walk a few blocks and finally they come in front of the accountant's new home, a marvelous house, with seven rooms, hundreds of acres of gardens with trees and flowers and the most beautiful pool you've ever seen. St Peter tells the accountant to go in and live in peace.

They continue their walk and after going through some narrow and dark alleys they get to this small shack, only one room, no bathroom, loose paint and lousy surroundings, and St. Peter tells the pope this is his new house, and asks him to go in and live in peace.

The Pope looks at that shameful house and says, "Listen St. Peter. All my life I have devoted to praising the Lord and doing good deeds. I'm accustomed to having a frugal life and will not complain about this. But could you explain why the other guy got such a luxurious place to live and I got this 'thing'?"

"Well," says St. Peter, "You know, we have lot's of popes here in Paradise, but that's the first accountant we got!!!"
