Differences between the English and the Americans
John Cleese, the English comedian and actor, was recently asked on American TV what he thought the differences were between the English and the Americans.
In reply he said that there were three differences:
We speak English and you don't.
When we hold a World Championship for a particular sport, we invite teams from other countries.
When you meet the head of state in England, you only have to go down on one knee.
