Eve's First Words

Three nuns died and went up to the Pearly Gates where they are met by St. Peter who's lumbering around with a huge key hanging off his left wing.

St. Peter says to the nuns that "before you can enter the kingdom of God you must first answer a simple question of faith."

To the first nun he asks "what is the significance of Easter?" to which the nun replies "it is where Christ rose from the dead three days after being crucified thereby proving that he is the son of God." As she finishes a chorus of angels sing triumphantly, trumpets cry out a fanfare and the Pearly Gates open up and the nun enters.

To the second nun St. Peter asks "what comprises the Holy Trinity?" to which the second nun replies "the Father, the son and the holy ghost [pater, filius et sanctus spiritus for those who like Latin]." As she finishes a chorus of angels sing triumphantly, trumpets cry out a fanfare and the Pearly Gates open up and the nun enters.

To the third nun St. Peter asks "what were Eve's first words to Adam?" The nun scratches her head and tries to remember what she learned at the nunnery. Thinking hard and still perplexed she mutters "Gee, that's a hard one." As she says it, a chorus of angels sing triumphantly, trumpets cry out a fanfare and the Pearly Gates open up and the nun enters.
