Un-clutter the desktop icons
This is entirely up to the end user. If the end user prefers the icons on the desktop, leave them there.
If there are downloaded programs on the desktop, it is highly recommended that they be deleted or moved to a folder on the drive. A good habit to have is to create a folder called Downloads and save all downloads to that folder instead of the desktop.
