Virus Checking

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Verify that a current anti-virus program is installed and functioning

Older virus programs may be susceptible to compromise by certain viruses. The Anti-virus engine should be current. Also, older antivirus engines may not be capable of using current definition databases.

Verify that the virus definition (pattern) is up to date

The virus definition database should not be more than 7 days old. If it is, it is recommended that you perform a full virus check after the definitions are updated to ensure that the system does not have any previously undetected viruses on it.
