Un-clutter the system tray

The system tray should be reserved for items that may require frequent attention.

Many programs place them self in the system tray to provide users with quick access. While this is very thoughtful of those programs, is can become quite a mess in a hurry. Many programs do not require the system tray component to operate properly. Such programs may be removed from the system tray (and/or startup).

Examples of such programs are: Real Player, QuickTime, WinZip, CD Creator.
